The Penticton Peach Festival is excited to welcome aboard two new sponsors to help continue the tradition of the festival being a free, family-fun event.
RONA has come on board as the sponsor for the Kids Zone, which runs in Gyro Park (55 Main St.) from 9 a.m. to noon from Aug. 7 to 9.
“This will be the third year for the Kids Zone and it has been a huge success,” said director Bev Tiel, Penticton Peach Festival Director. “Thanks to RONA and our other sponsors, we are able to have a party for the kids every morning.”
The RONA Kids Zone features local talent such as the Nankama Drummers, Summerland School of Dance, Black Widow Rope Spinners, Boundless Belly Dance, Get Bent Bellydancers, the Reptile Guy’s Wild Education and the always popular Kiki the Eco Elf.
“Kiki was the crowd favourite last year,” said Tiel.
Also in Gyro Park, during the Kids Zone hours, you will find pony rides ($5), a goat-petting pen, bouncy castles, face painting, balloon animals, the library corner and more. EZRock will be broadcasting live from the RONA Kids Zone from Wednesday to Friday.
“The entire focus is on the kids. It is a great way for families to kick off they day before the main park (Okanagan Lake Park) opens at noon,” said Don Kendall, Peachfest President.
