Canadian alt-rock legends Econoline Crush will bring their full-throttle rock sound to the Penticton Peach Festival main stage on Saturday, Aug. 9, presented by Grizzly Excavating, in what promises to be one of the festival’s most memorable nights.
With a career spanning over three decades, Econoline Crush, led by founding frontman Trevor Hurst, have reemerged with new music, powerful storytelling, and a renewed passion for connection. Their 2023 album, When The Devil Drives, is the band’s first full-length release in over a decade, and serves as both a tribute to late guitarist David “Ziggy” Sigmund and a personal journey through resilience, addiction, loss, and healing.
“Econoline Crush continues to evolve, and their first appearance at Peach Festival will be nothing short of powerful. Festival fans are in for an unforgettable experience,” said Shawna Tinga, President of the Penticton Peach Festival.
With chart-topping hits like All That You Are (X3) and You Don’t Know What It’s Like, Econoline Crush carved out a bold path in the Canadian rock scene during the 1990s and early 2000s, touring with icons like Alice Cooper and opening for KISS at Madison Square Garden. Their latest work, produced by Ian Alexander Smith and mixed by legendary producer Jack Joseph Puig, sees the band fuse their industrial rock roots with deeply personal lyrics that reflect Hurst’s own transformation from rock star to registered psychiatric nurse.
The band’s journey is also captured in the documentary Flatlander, chronicling Hurst’s time working as a mental health coordinator in a remote First Nations community, where he rediscovered his calling to create music and connect with others through art.
Econoline Crush’s performance will be part of a full day of free entertainment at Okanagan Lake Park, celebrating both legendary acts and rising stars. Their set promises energy, moving stories, and a celebration of rock music’s enduring spirit.
