Canadian rock royalty Sloan will take centre stage at the Penticton Peach Festival on Saturday, Aug. 9.
The iconic band has been a driving force in Canadian rock for over three decades, amassing more than 30 hit singles and earning nine Juno Award nominations.
Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Sloan – featuring Chris Murphy, Jay Ferguson, Patrick Pentland, and Andrew Scott – helped spark Canada’s East Coast alternative rock movement in the early ‘90s, drawing comparisons to the Seattle grunge scene.
Their catalog of over 250 songs spans everything from fuzzed-out guitars to sharp power pop anthems, making them one of Canada’s top five bands of all time, as ranked by CBC critics. Sloan’s earned nine Juno Award nominations, including a win for Best Alternative Album in 1997. Their hits include Money City Maniacs, Underwhelmed, The Other Man, If it Feels Good Do It among many others.
“We’re beyond excited to welcome Sloan to this year’s festival,” said Shawna Tinga, Penticton Peach Festival President. “With their legendary status in Canadian rock and their incredible live performances, this will be a night to remember. Thanks to the support of our generous local sponsors, like Peters Bros. Paving, we’re proud to continue offering five days of free concerts and entertainment for the whole community.”
Sloan joins an already stacked 2025 Peach Fest lineup, which includes Men Without Hats (Wednesday, Aug. 6), the Canadian Forces Snowbirds (Aug. 6), JoJo Mason and Kyle McKearney on Tim Hortons Country Night (Aug. 7), and Eagle Eyes and Bad Medicine for RE/MAX Tribute Night (Aug. 8). Peach Festival is five-days of free family-fun, tickets are not required for any of the festival’s concerts. For more information on the schedule, click here.
