One of the most exciting events in Peach Festival history is returning for a seventh year. The Canadian Tire Mega Motocross is scheduled Wednesday, Aug. 7 to Friday, Aug. 9, on Lakeshore Drive, adjacent to Okanagan Lake Park.
Some of Canada’s top professional riders with Global FMX, including X Games gold medalists, will perform amazing trick jumps and promise a show larger than previous years.
“This will not be a typical street demo,” said Kris Garwasiuk, Global FMX organizer. “You’ll be seeing some amazing jumps that will blow your mind.”
This years show will see the return of some past performers including Kelowna, B.C.’s very own Chris Nolan, who is known as one of the original top riders in Canada turning professional at the young age of 14. Jeff Fehr, from Vanderhoof, B.C., who is a two time Canadian Champion and world record holder for longest natural terrain back flip on a motorcycle, will also return with a whole new list of tricks and stunts to wow the crowd. Jordan Gledhill, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, will make the long journey to perform as well. Gledhill is touted as the fastest and most progressive rider in history. Kris Foster, from Kamloops, B.C., is an X Games gold medalist and also holds three silver medals
“Kris Foster will be joining the crew to wow the crowds with his own riding style and massive extension. This is a true honour to have him at the event and I promise he will absolutely push the show to the next level,” said Garwasiuk.
In addition, 10-year-old Kruz Garwasiuk will be making a huge return with a whole new list of tricks. He is also now jumping a full size ramp and setting the FMX world on fire at such a very young age.
Global FMX will also premiere their brand new ramps and show set up. Visually the show will be quite different from the past and provide much added excitement to the Canadian Tire mega motocross show!
There will be two shows per day. For show times, check the schedule. With limited seating, you are advised to arrive early.
