The Penticton Peach Festival is proud to announce they were chosen as the winner of the Best Festival category in the 2020 Best of the South Okanagan awards.
This is the 10th year in a row that Peachfest has been honoured with the Best of the South Okanagan title, presented by the Penticton Western News.
“Awards such as these, that come as a result of the public voting, are truly meaningful to the board and volunteers. It tells us that we have built an event that is a treasure in our community and gives us inspiration to continue to outdo the year previous,” said Don Kendall, Peachfest president.
This was the first time in 73 years that Peachfest had to be cancelled due to the provincial health authority guidelines to protect the public because of the pandemic. Kendall said despite the cancellation, it was heartening to have so many of the sponsors reach out and stand by their pledge to the family focused event for future years.
The 2020 Best of the South Okanagan awards were announced on Oct. 21 and feature favourite local businesses in more than 90 categories. To view all the award winners click here.
Earlier this year Peachfest was named the Best Festival for the second year in a row in the Best of Penticton awards held by Penticton Now.
“These awards are a direct result of the support we have from our sponsors, our amazing volunteers and the strength of our board of directors. We can’t thank you all enough,” said Kendall.
